Church Sound Summit Contributors
Sound engineering has taken me all over the world both in a live context mixing FOH, monitors and broadcast feeds. As well as recording.
More recently we moved as a family to Kansas City MO to work with International House of Prayer, training and mentoring their 20+ team of engineers. I am now back in the UK and continue to work with them on a friendship basis as well as event support here in UK.
My Latest labour or love is www.thechurchsoundsummit.com this is an event specifically intended to help support the wider church in it's sound requirements.
Hi, my name is Dave Scarlett, I am a FOH and Monitor Engineer, working full time for SFL Group. I’m often found at FOH on large scale corporate conferences, and at monitors on festivals across the UK, both religious and secular. I also specialise in the design and management of large scale radio mic and wireless IEM systems, and I’m a certified Dante trainer. When not on the road, I’m either found hanging out at Reading Family Church, or Christ Church Felixstowe.
I’m really excited to see the Church Sound Summit come together, and believe the resource it provides to the church will be second to none.
“I have been involved with live sound for some 35 years, and have experience of touring, audio hire and sales, concert sound, audio system design and installation for the house of worship market.
I’m a senior lecturer and member of the Institute of Acoustics, and I developed, led and teach on the Sound, Light and Live Event Technology engineering degree programme at the University of Derby.
My specialist areas include event safety, speech intelligibility, assisted listening systems and post gig kebabs…”

I have a passion for seeing technicians excel at their craft, being able to create a sound that is pleasing to God as it reflects their heart for worship. This means that I seek to create an education environment for the whole person, and then extend this to team and church development.
I am really excited to be part of the Church Sound Summit, both as a contributor and as a learner! The community of church technicians has a really pivotal role to play in the future of revival in the UK church and beyond.
